WWII History

During WWII this bunker was one of three 60cm searchlight bunkers located on Alderney. It was called “Searclight Hummerfeste’.

The Aussie BBQ Bunker near the lighthouse.
The second is on the track leading down from Fort Tourgis to Clonque.
The third is out at The Guns on the southern cliffs.

Searchlight Hummerferfest consisted of the searchlight bunker, a crew bunker and a generator room. Both the crews quarters and generator were on the ground level below the searchlight bunker.
