During WWII this bunker was one of three 60cm searchlight bunkers located on Alderney. It was called “Searclight Hummerfeste’.

• The Aussie BBQ Bunker near the lighthouse.
• The second is on the track leading down from Fort Tourgis to Clonque.
• The third is out at The Guns on the southern cliffs.

Searchlight Hummerferfest consisted of the searchlight bunker, a crew bunker and a generator room. Both the crews quarters and generator were on the ground level below the searchlight bunker.
